Well, we've seen the poster around, we've read the thread, but we still have questions! Right?sleep.gif

We've marked DEEN INTENSIVE, 16-21 September in our diaries.

We're planning our budget, to ensure we can pay the $150 course fee, which includes the accommodation at the Adelaide Hills Wilderness Lodge for 5 nights, all the delicious meals and course material.

We realize that the educator is Sidi Afroz Ali, founder and president of Al-Ghazalli Centre, a person who is like one of us, who knows what it means to be an Australian Muslim, and above all has studied Shari`ah at the Islamic University, Madinah as well as under renowned Traditional Scholars who he continues to study under, like Shaykh Murabtal Hajj, Shaykh Salik bin Siddina and Shaykh Hamza Yusuf. He holds qualifications to teach the Sacred Knowledge in the faculties of Islamic Law as well as Ethics, Status of Women and Spiritual Development.

So for all those who still have questions, or for those who simply want to share their enthusiasm with the rest of us, biggrin.gif, this a thread to post in.

... well, well, well, looks like the 'old crew' is back (who are we missing ... ummm Aisha, Ahmad, aannnnddddd Mustafa ... yalla post something guys !!!)

Ok seriously, this course looks like such an empowering learning experience. As has been said Bro Afroz Ali does have a way of capturing your attention because of the logic & real-life situations he applies in his teaching manner. SubhanAllah when I went on the personal development retreat with the 'old crew' early this year Bro Afroz Ali nearly made me cry ... twice !!!

So who is going?

salams ppl,

registration for the Deen Intensive closes on the 26th of August which is this Friday!!!

so if you are interested in attending, please register ASAP to secure your place!

and as a few people have been asking me i thought i may as well point out, registering by the 26th of August does not mean you have to pay the $150 fee by then. Once you register online you will inshaAllah receive an information pack in the mail with all the details you need.. which includes payment which will be due shortly after the closing registration date.

so don't stress and if you have any questions about anything regarding the Deen Intensive, just let us know! smile.gif

look forward to seeing everyone there! smile.gif

Assalaamu 'Alaikum,

Insha Allah I will see the many of you at the Deen Intensive.

OK, here are teaser facts, that if you did not know the answers to, then this Deen Intensive is for you.

1. There are THIRTEEN obligatory Attributes of Allah that every Muslim must understand and know. The common misconception is that there are 99 Names and Attributes of Allah. This is not true. The 99 are the most agreed upon, mentioned in the Qur'an. In fact, there are some 150 Names and Attributes of Allah.

2. The wiping over modern-day socks is not permissible. Even the word "Khuff" holds magnificent information, in the manner Allah has protected, that proves the point. Further, the matter of wiping of the Khuffayn, is in fact mentioned in the matters of Aqqedah, let alone Fiqh!

3. The letters of the Arabic language hold meaning, that protect words from corruption. For more information, read this: http://alghazzali.org/resources/articles/words.pdf

4. The Tashahud we recite in our prayer, is a testimony of an intimate dialogue between Allah Ta'ala and His Beloved Muhammad, saws.gif . This story would make any Believer weep with inspiration.

5. The time for Fajr prayer in most calendars are incorrect by some 15-25mins. Whilst this may not affect most of us during the normal course of the year, waking up slightly late and praying, coincidently, within the time for Fajr, this is problematic in the month of Ramadhan. Most Muslims eat their Suhoor, and pray Fajr at the time stated in the calendar. The sad fact is that if one did that, their Fajr prayer is too early, in fact in the Tahajjud time.... hence the Fajr invalid.... which must be made up.

Now, these are obligatory knowledge. Money, no time, friends, holiday and the rest must not stop you from learning what you must practise validly to be acceptable by Allah. Ignorance is not a valid excuse in Islam. Remove ignorance, with knowledge.

My special thanks to the team who has helped to put this Deen Intensive together. I pray that people will make time to participate in this and learn beneficial knowledge.

Was Salaam
Afroz
