Assalamou Alaikum everyone, just a few days ago I was wondering if there was any place I could find out who's who on this site and today while browing I found out this forum. Nice For those who remember me, I'm from Mauritius; a small paradise island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. I used to study in Adelaide but returned back from home since last yr! Yeah I finally finished my studies. And one thing I can tell you guys: I really really miss the camps! :/ And I'ld like to seize this apportunity to congratulate Ryan and Radikal whom I suppose worked together to put this web site up. It's really nice to log in here esp whem I'm bored at work. At least you did something gr8! But one thing, I don't think I know you Radikal, right?!? And I'ld also like to thank all of uz who made Adelaide my home away from home. I really enjoyed myself there.

Bro, the topic of whether that food is halal or not is disputable and depends on which opinion you take. A very good discussion of this is going on in the "Halal Meat" thread in the "Ask the Imam" forum.
Im only saying this because people really really need to be careful when they say what is and isnt halal. There is an opinion that you are able to eat that food because they are people of the book hence they are eatable by muslims and so if you say that it is haram, then you are making something haram which some scholars have said it is halal under Allahs rule. ie, you would be saying something is haram which isnt, which is very dangerous.
Im not gonna go into details, this isnt the place for it.. Im just saying, bro, be very careful what you say when it comes to the words "halal" and "haram."
Also if sister Betty takes the opinion that it is ok, thats her choice, so you should accept that as her choice.
If i said anything to offend anyone then forgive me.
The only thing i can say, is sister Betty, 1 opinion, and stressing 1 opnion, not every opnion, one opinion of the scholars is, that meat from people of the book is ok to eat as long as you say "Bismillah alrahman al raheem" before you start, and since Australia is considered a Christian country, ie, people of the book, its ok for you to eat that provided you mantion Allah SWT's name before you eat.
Like i said, this is an area of different opinion and dont be quick to judge what opinion others take.

Id like to also say something, which i should have put in my previous post but i think wont be as effective as here (sorry no use of edit button on this) I think i speak on behalf of both brother Ryan, and sister RadiKal, and all the older brothers and sisters on this forum, speaking to the younger brothers and sister. We are all in this world together. WE are brothers and sisters together here by Allah SWT. As a result, WE should help each other in any way we can. So on behlf of the older peoplz to the younger peoplz, If there is anything you want to say, FEEL FREE TO DO SO, we will inshallah listen and help in anyway we can and you WILL NOT be made to feel any form of regret inshallah. If you have any concerns about anything, Speak to us if you want, anytime, we are here to help. We will do what we can to help you inshallah. If you have any troubles, feel free to approach us and talk to us and know that what you say inshallah WILL be a secret between the person you talk to and yourself. Everthing will be completely confidential inshallah. We must help each other. We must listen to each other. We must learn with and from each other. We may come from different nationalities, but that is our strength, not a dividing factor between us. It doesnt matter where you come from, you are my brothers and sisters. Nothing on this earth can change that. We (the older people ) are here to help, if anyone needs anything young and old, ask for help. Its not a bad thing. The more you ask, the more you learn. So ask away brothers and sisters. Talk about whatever you want. Ask any question you want, and dont fear any kind of embarresment at all.
