Although this thread wad devoted to Ramadan initially, instead of creating a new one, I will inshaAllah post the moonsighting for this month here.
The crescent was not sighted in Adelaide, nor in any other city in Australia last night (29th DhulHijjah) and therefore the 1st of Muharram is on the 1st of February, that is tonight after maghrib inshaAllah. Slightly early, but Happy New Hijri Year to everyone. May Allah swt help us purify our heart of its vices and strengthen in it the love of Him. Hope this new year brings true success to everyone. if no one replys soon enuff; whu wants to go just be at the Adelaide Mosque sometime (maybe 20-30 minutes...not sure) before maghrib this wednesday jsut let us kno ur coming so we wait i think we going to some beach or sumthin....lol i forgot |

Yes InshAllah! there is moon sighting on Wednesday March 1st at 7:15pm at West Beach at the end of Sir Donald Brodmann Drive or if you need transport meet at Adelaide City Masjid at 7pm sharp. If you have space in your car please meet at the Masjid at 7pm to help with transportation InshAllah
We are very blessed to have Sidi Afroz Ali flying in from Sydney especially for this occasion to talk about the significance and background information about moon sighting. Alhamdulillah, the crescent was sighted, and what a beautiful sight it was, mashaAllah. SubhanAllah, it was such a beautiful experience, being with all the brothers and sisters for an obligation containing so much barakah. And I think if you were to ask each and every person who attended, they will attest to the barakah felt tonight. Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah.
As the crescent was sighted, therefore the 1st of Safar falls on 2nd March 2006 inshaAllah. ps. I'm excited! |
